Nato spelling alphabet1/2/2024 ![]() ![]() In the late 1940s, linguist Jean-Paul Vinay worked with the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) to develop a spelling alphabet with those requirements to suit native English, French, and Spanish speakers. In fact, the first non-military, globally accepted spelling alphabet was initially adopted in 1927 by the CCIR (the predecessor of the ITU – International Telecommunication Union).ĭuring World War II, the IATA (International Air Transport Association) acknowledged a need for a universal, standardised spelling alphabet that featured phonemes that were common in different languages such as English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. ![]() Spelling alphabets have been developed and used to clarify verbal communication since World War I. Brief History of the NATO phonetic alphabet For example, ‘Alpha’ (used to represent the letter ‘A’) is written Alfa, and ‘Juliet’ (‘J’) is written as ‘Juliett’ to avoid ambiguity and potential mispronunciations non-native English speakers. Using words that might be well recognised the world over, the NATO version of the phonetic alphabet takes into account the pronunciation of each word for native speakers of different languages. The 26 code words for the English alphabet in alphabetical order are as follows:Īlfa, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliett, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-ray, Yankee, Zulu It is used to eliminate misunderstandings in oral communication sessions. Like other spelling alphabets, the NATO phonetic alphabet is a set of 26 words used to represent each letter of the alphabet. Initially developed by the International Civil Aviation Organisation to simplify verbal communications through radio or phone devices. What is the NATO phonetic alphabet?Īlso known as the International Radiotelephony Spelling Alphabet, the NATO phonetic alphabet is widely used by radio or telephony technology in day-to-day communications. For those communicating with customers from different countries, it’s worth considering adopting a universally standardised alphabet, namely, the NATO phonetic alphabet. The use of different versions of the phonetic alphabet can lead to further confusion, making the global framework somewhat obsolete. For example, it’s common in the US to use common names and place names to identify each letter. However, some organisations or countries use different phonetic alphabets. These common mistakes often lead to confusion and operational challenges, particularly in a contact centre environment. Particularly useful for military agencies and those using voice communications daily, the phonetic alphabet helps clear up commonly misunderstood phonemes such as ‘N’ and ‘M’ or ‘S’ and ‘F’. More specifically, it was developed to clarify and avoid misunderstandings in the pronunciation of specific words or letters. For example, ‘Boy’ might represent ‘B’ and ‘King’ communicates the letter ‘K’ when spoken aloud.Īlso known as the ‘military alphabet’ or the ‘spelling alphabet’, the phonetic alphabet eliminates the ambiguity in spoken communication. Each phonetic alphabet word begins with the respective letter of the alphabet that it represents. What is the phonetic alphabet?Ī phonetic alphabet is a list of 26 words that depict each letter of the alphabet. This post will outline why and highlight some of the reasons contact centre organisations should reclaim it as an indispensable solution for improving customer interactions. On the contrary, there’s a reason why this clever linguistic tool has been used globally for many years. This simple method for clarifying communication sessions has fallen off the radar in recent years as many organisations feel modern technology makes it obsolete. Historically, the use of the phonetic alphabet in call centres was commonplace. ![]() While this means investing in the latest cloud technology, AI chatbots and omnichannel communications for many businesses, there is a simpler, less technical, and much more affordable resource that contact centres simply aren’t optimising right now. In an increasingly virtual working environment, contact centre leaders must equip their frontline staff with the tools and resources that enable them to deliver an exceptional customer experience. As customer demands grow increasingly complex and the need for service excellence accelerates, contact centres and their agents are under immense pressure to perform accurately and quickly.

Greta deathmetal1/2/2024 And for a transcript of Thunberg’s historic speech, click here. This whole unexpected collaboration adds a new chapter of awareness in the endless saga that is Scandinavian metal. Thunberg’s delivery of the lines “People are suffering / People are dying / Entire ecosystems are collapsing / We are in the beginning of a mass extinction” is really all too appropriate for this genre and style of music, and the growl gives it an enhanced drama that we weren’t even first sure was necessary. “Greta Thunberg sings Swedish Death Metal” is exactly what it suggests, with the riffage and sonic assault all courtesy of Mollusk. Now, a YouTuber and musician named John Mollusk has paired her words to music, giving Thunberg’s impassioned speech a soundtrack that hits close to her home and brings as much thunder as she does. Sixteen-year-old climate activist and global badass Greta Thunberg generated headlines around our suffering world on Monday with a fiery speech directed at world leaders assembled at the United Nation’s Climate Action Summit in New York City. There’s also a brand new Facebook page entitled How Dare You. With the single release, Despotz Records launches a campaign under the hashtag #GREENMETAL where they urge the metal fans worldwide to mobilize and take part in the environmental movement together and to create history making the death metal song ’How Dare You’ enter the billboard top 10 charts!” ![]() The clip went viral and has already been viewed over 4 million times.Īll the record company’s profits from the release will go straight to the environmental rights activist group Greenpeace. Shortly thereafter, a music video was released on Youtube where the Death Metal phenomenon G.T, also known as John Mollusk, the drummer of New York thrash metal band Suaka, converted the speech into a death metal song where he himself growls along with Greta. The speech, where she relentlessly scolded the world’s most powerful people for their lack of action facing the climate crisis, quickly became a classic and, along with Martin Luther King’s epoch-making speech, “I have a dream”, is placed among the most influential and important speeches in the history of modern humanity. ![]() In complete support of Greta and Greenpeace, Despotz Records have launched a social media campaign #GREENMETAL to urge the metal fans worldwide to mobilize and take part in the environmental movement together as the label explained:Ī week ago, Greta Thunberg (the teenaged leader of the climate revolution, she needs no further presentation) gave a speech to the world leaders at the opening of the UN Climate Summit in New York. 23 now-viral United Nations Climate Action speech will be used to benefit. John has teamed up with label Despotz Records to release the song, “How Dare You,” as a legit single and all profits will go to Greenpeace. A heavy-metal remix of Swedish teen climate activist Greta Thunbergs Sept. Greta Thunberg Pivots To Death Metal News Septem3:59 PM By Peter Helman 0 Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old Swedish activist who has led global student protests for climate justice, gave. With that being said, Mollusk or should we say John Meredith, the drummer for the NYC-based Indonesian thrash act Suaka, has decided to take his mashup to the next level by releasing it as an official single. ![]() Last week, YouTuber John Mollusk posted a death metal. YouTuber Spektor Baal made a synthwave goth version and it has already exceeded thirty-thousand views: The post That viral Greta Thunberg death metal track is now a charity single called How Dare You appeared first on Consequence of Sound. Additionally, other YouTubers have since been inspired by John Mollusk who created the video and decided to make a mashup of their own. Lets face it, even Greta herself seems to dig the tune. Despite all of the mix-ups we’ve heard, Greta Thunberg’s UN speech morphed into a Swedish death metal track is one for the books. We’ve been seeing quite a few mashups lately including Deftones and Britney Spears, Tool and Justin Bieber, and Tool and Taylor Swift.

Nature valley class actio1/2/2024 Indeed, after years of litigation over whether their products are as “natural” as they advertise, many food companies have wised up and replaced the word, even as the Food and Drug Administration collects public comment on what it should mean. General Mills declined to comment on the litigation. Their claim, said lead attorney Kim Richman, is much simpler-that oats can’t be “100% natural” if they’re grown with a synthetic pesticide, and that calling them as much misleads consumers. The new litigation against General Mills isn’t focused on glyphosate’s health effects, whatever they may be. did not respond to a request for comment but told the New York Times that its oats go through a cleansing process and are safe for human consumption, and that while it didn’t add glyphosate, its farmers might apply it before harvest. Some of the same attorneys behind Wednesday’s suits brought a similar action in May against PepsiCo over traces of glyphosate allegedly found in Quaker oatmeal. The World Health Organization last year dubbed glyphosate “probably carcinogenic,” but in May, a report by the WHO and the United Nations concluded it “is unlikely to be genotoxic at anticipated dietary exposures.” In other words, glyphosate can hurt you, but not from how you’re probably consuming it. But the suit contends that’s still higher than should be allowed because the pesticide likely comes from the “100% natural” oats. At 0.45 parts per million, the level it says they contain is well below the Environmental Protection Agency’s 30 ppm limit. The products contain, it says, small amounts of the common pesticide glyphosate. “The oat products at issue are not ‘made with 100% natural whole grain oats,'” the D.C. The Sweet & Salty Nut granola bars, for example, come with text that says they are “made with 100% natural whole grain oats.”Īccording to lawsuits filed Wednesday in New York, California, Minnesota, and Washington, D.C., that claim is deceptive. Yet it has reappeared-in a different place, outside the scope of that settlement-on many Nature Valley products. The phrase soon disappeared from its spot on the box right under the brand name. In 2014, General Mills settled a class-action lawsuit and agreed not to label its Nature Valley granola bars “100% natural” if they contained high-fructose corn syrup, maltodextrin, or several other highly processed ingredients. New lawsuits filed Wednesday target what they say are small amounts of the world’s most popular pesticide in granola bars ostensibly “made with 100% natural whole grain oats.” The “natural” claims haven’t vanished they’ve just become less conspicuous-and as the claims have evolved, so has the litigation over whether they’re deceptive. ![]() “Natural,” once the descriptor of choice, is being crowded out after years of lawsuits. Stroll down your supermarket’s aisles, and you may notice some new words on the cereal and snack boxes.

Some online gaming portals like SolitaireParadise claim to offer Bookworm but several others that we checked wouldn’t actually load the game. Physical versions of all three titles are available for PC while the original Bookworm is available for the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS. As late as September of 2017 PopCap’s trademark page continued to display all four Bookworm titles and EA’s international trademarks on Bookworm remain active through 2025. No further explanation has been given on why the games were removed although their delisting from EA’s own Origin and POGO services implies that an expired license of some sort is the cause. In interactions that included Bookworm in interviews and on Twitter they would mention other PopCap franchises by name (Plants vs Zombies, Peggle, etc) while glancing over Bookworm. Daley blind1/1/2024 ![]() "I know this manager has the quality and I hope he gets the time to put everything his way and makes sure the team plays how he wants. "I think, if that's going to happen, then winning will become more easy. ![]() "I won't burn my hands on that but I think the most important thing is that the team puts out a playing style and people can see that back on the pitch. He is the son of former Ajax defender and former Netherlands national team manager Danny Blind. During his second stint with the Eredivisie champions, Daley Blind has netted seven goals in 91 appearances. The Netherlands international spent four seasons with Manchester United before returning to his boyhood club in 2018. "It's difficult to say," he replied, when quizzed on when United can start winning the top honours again. Daley Blind ( Dutch pronunciation: deli blnt born 9 March 1990) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder, left-back or centre-back for Eredivisie club Ajax and the Netherlands national team. Daley Blind, having emerged through the ranks at Ajax, went on to ply his trade in the Premier League later. ![]() Former Manchester United defender Blind admitted he had to ‘overcome a big hurdle’ to play against Ukraine having also being affected by heart issues. There is a realisation that the rebuilding job may take time and Daley, who won the Emirates FA Cup and Europa League during his time here, is not willing to apply extra pressure on his former manager.Īll he would say was that he was convinced his fellow countryman's methods would reap dividends, providing there is some patience. DALEY BLIND considered withdrawing from Holland's Euro 2020 opener after seeing his former Ajax team-mate and friend Christian Eriksen collapse after suffering a cardiac arrest on Saturday. However, Blind would not be pushed when asked for a timeframe as to when the new man will be able to help the Reds get our hands on some silverware again.

Before you go1/1/2024 ![]() In addition to the giant loophole above, the measure does not prioritize housing for our neediest residents. Measure L contains no specific housing plans. Roads will have worn out before children entering first grade this year reach high school, but they will be members of AARP before the bonds are paid off in 2070 -including $475 million in interest. We tried that with Measure M and the quality of our roads deteriorated. But roads are not that durable, and this measure would allow bond funding even for repairs that will last for only seven years. Bonds are for investments that will last decades. The city has allocated just $1.95 million annually for roads during the past decade, even as budgets grew to nearly $500 million. This language guarantees years of arguments over how this money would actually be spent, but does not guarantee affordable housing, responsible repair of our streets, or anything else.Īfter decades of neglect, we need a responsible street repair program. Read the fine print, and you will find this phrase:ĭollar amounts are estimates … and are not a commitment or guarantee that any specific amounts will be spent on particular projects or categories of projects. Why would a group of Berkeley residents that supports affordable housing, repairing our roads, and reducing wildfire risk oppose a measure that purports to help fund these things? Because Measure L was poorly and hastily drafted and includes a loophole that would allow the $650 million to be spent on virtually any project.

Gravel binder1/1/2024 ![]() Looking for a very eco-friendly way to support your new pathways Bender Board from Howell Pathways is your trusted landscape edging, consisting of 100 recycled materials designed to provide lasting support, UV. ![]() I've done a couple of tests with different dilutions (is that a word?) and 50/50 with water seems to work OK. This gravel binder bonds to the aggregates, curing to form a water permeable layer that resists degradation, water runoff, and more. One idea I had was to use diluted bondcrete and just pour it over the gravel. However, it's very expensive, and we won't really be walking on it as it'll be slightly lower, or level with, the surrounding stone. I'm quite liking it so would like to continue with the whole path, but obviously over time the gravel is going to get washed away - so what's the best way to keep it in place? There are the products like and for an area of gravel that was going to be walked on I'd probably go this route. We didn't like the mortar pointing that was in them before so this time I've 'pointed' to 10mm below the level and am thinking of topping it off with gravel - here's a bit I did to see how it looks If you are interested in the gravel binder provided by Pour On, contact us to learn more.I'm relaying our sandstone path using the same stones, but pulling them up and levelling the base as they're all over the place at the moment. Second, the thin application allows water to run between the stones and back into the earth. This makes it a great option for landscaping. First, by stabilizing the loose gravel, you will no longer have to replenish the stones which tend to run off. Using a gravel binder can help to improve the environment in a number of different ways. Vuba Easihold XL 1.1 Gallon Pack - Resin Binder for Gravel, Stones, Mulch & Bark - Non Toxic, High Strength, Permeable (169.07 us fl oz) 2,300. The third reason why Pour On could be a great option is that it has more environmental benefits. Protects Stones - Easihold coats and protects. Pour On is also a good option because it is customizable – the fact that the stones won’t move enables you to create designs that would not have lasted with loose stone. Easihold is a water based, non-harmful, easy-to-use binder that leaves stones permeable, with a protective sheen. This can save you money due to the fact that you will never have to replace pieces of it like you would if it were loose. Second, the gravel will not get loose and lost over time. It is much easier to install and many people are able to complete the entire installation process on their own. When using a gravel binder, you will be able to save money through installation costs. HOLDS AND FIXES LOOSE STONES - New or Existing, Easihold will hold together 4-20mm. The first reason why the Pour On gravel binder could be a great option for your project is that it can actually be more affordable than some popular options. Make sure this fits by entering your model number. For those that are looking for a better option, choosing the gravel binder by Pour On could be a great option as it provides a number of different benefits to users. She tries to explore more with the guy to see if he’s faking insanity to beat the charges. “Genesis 1” starts off the series with Bouchard interviewing a serial killer who swears he’s demonically possessed. Evil: Season One gets as weird enough that you swear they’re on cable. All bases are covered as this trio sees what’s happening to the people they are investigating. Joining them on their investigations is Ben Shakir ( The Daily Show‘s Aasif Mandvi) as the tech guy who can see if there’s a scientific explanation.
